Husk Cradle

HuskCradle is eco-friendly food packaging designed from wheat husk. It is intended for single use to replace the extensive one-time use of plastics particularly styrofoam. The target market is public stalls, cafeterias and stalls. Wheat Husk is usually fed to animals since the packaging is 100 biodegradable, it can again be fed to livestock animals leading to zero waste generation. Husk Cradle won the 2023 Living Indus Green Startup Youth Champion title, an initiative by Government of Pakistan and the United Nations, emerging as the top startup among 62 applicants.The award supports youth-led environmental and climate mitigation solutions under the Ministry of Climate Change in collaboration with National Incubation Centers.In 2024, Husk Cradle was nominated for the Green Product Award in the Packaging category, selected from over 1,500 entries across 54 countries for its design, innovation, and sustainability.
